CAIR Still Targeting WMAL Radio

Michael Graham's stand-in Geoff Metcalf (whom CAIR calls Graham's "replacement," though Graham has stated that the final decision by WMAL has not been made) has offended the religion of peace by telling the truth about a particular tenet of Islam. Have a look at this, from Sixth Column, quoting an action alert from CAIR:

"(WASHINGTON, D.C., 8/3/05) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called on a Washington, D.C., radio station to address the incitement of anti-Muslim hatred caused by its talk show hosts. CAIR issued that call after a replacement for a talk show host suspended for anti-Islam remarks made similarly Islamophobic comments.

"On Friday, July 29, WMAL-AM replacement host Geoff Metcalf stated: 'And by the way, let me just add a sidebar here that's significant, and everybody forgets this, but according to the Quran, believers in Islam are not required to tell infidels, and that's us, the truth. So they apparently have permission to lie when it is appropriate.' Most callers to the program expressed similar hostility to Muslims and to the faith of Islam...."

The sponsors whom CAIR is contacting are also listed at the above link. Hmmm....Do I feel an email attack coming on?

Perhaps Daniel Pipes's article about CAIR and its connections to terrorism is a good item to forward to these sponsors.

Sixth Column also has posted the following information, some of which is quoted from other sources:

"...Islamic terrorists have their own terms: taqiyya (pronounced tark-e-ya): precautionary dissimulation or deception and keeping one's convictions secret and a synonymous term, kitman: mental reservation and dissimulation or concealment of malevolent intentions...

Taqiyya and kitman or ‘holy hypocrisy’ has been diffused throughout Arabic culture for over fourteen hundred years since it was developed by Shiites as a means of defence and concealment of beliefs against Sunni unbelievers. As the Prophet said: "he who keeps secrets shall soon attain his objectives.’

"The skilful use of taqiyya and kitman was often a matter of life and death against enemies; it is also a matter of life and death to many contemporary Islamic terrorists. As so often in the history of Islam, a theological doctrine became operational....

Taqiyya is common to both Shiite and Sunni Muslim discourse and has significant implications for understanding Islamic fundamentalism and terrorist operations. The theory and practice of counter terrorism would be counterproductive, indeed pointless, and even harmful, without reference to taqiyya [precautionary dissimulation or deception and keeping one's convictions secret] and kitman [mental reservation and dissimulation or concealment of malevolent intentions] and the crucial role of deception ranging from Islamic jurisprudence to Al Qaeda training manuals, which carry detailed instructions on the use of deception by terrorists in Western target countries.

“According to Christian ethics lying is a sin; In Islamic jurisprudence and theology, the use of taqiyya against the unbelievers is regarded as a virtue and a religious duty...."

Lying to unbelievers is a virtue and a religious duty? Do WMAL Radio and its sponsors understand what taqiyya means? Do Americans in general understand what taqiyya means? Geoff Metcalf alluded to taqiyya, and now CAIR wants him silenced.

Earlier today, when I posted words from Michael Graham's website, I said that I could rest. I was wrong. There is no rest in this war.

I have one final question. Are any other media having similar issues with CAIR?

And I'm getting a little CAIR-phobic myself.

Note: Thank you, Cubed, for alerting me to this development. No rest for the weary, huh?

I've always thought Metcalf was a good man. No doubt they will want him shut up too. They can't let the truth get out.

I have started something new. I hope you will check out the update to Gas Prices In Your Area.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

Like I said before, maybe it's time for a rally of demonstration?

Let us know if Metcalf is on the show today and if so, whether or not he seemed muzzled.

I emailed off three of the nationally syndicated (spelling?) talk shows on the radio about it. Maybe one of them will mention it on air. I know for a fact that if this got more publicity, CAIR would recess back into the shadows. They dont want publicity, they want ignorance.

To all commenters,
I am hot on this story, so I'm reduced to sending a group reply here.

Thank you for your input here. According to CAIR's site, WMAL is not the only target.

Just wait until my next posting goes up. It's ready to go. Wonder if CAIR will come after me? It's a blunt posting, to say the least.

I will keep an eye on this post, but will they advocate cyber censorship?

Thumb your nose at them, AOW! Your our fearless leader on this, and they're just going to have to deal. Better yet -- they can pick up their marbles and go home.

Shah,
I am concerned about cyber censorship. I have an American friend living in Saudi, and her server there prevents her from accessing certain sites, including Jihad Watch. For now, I'm blogging on, however.

I know that your position is that there are threats other than Islamism. True, but right now my focus is this particular issue.

Esther,
I don't think of myself as a "fearless leader." A foolhardy one? Oh, well...

You said, "[t]hey can pick up their marbles and go home." LOL!

What is this nonsense about bias crimes against Muslims. According to the Fbi Hate Crime statistics for 2003 attacks against Jews were four times higher and attacks against gay men were three times higer. If one looks at the numbers Muslims are probably more likely to commit a hate crime then to be a victim.

Then again nobody counted 9-11 and WTC 93 as hate crimes and I was there.

Beak,
You are so right! Thank you for pointing out this truth.
