BRILLIANT!!! :-) That tune is so catchy! Have just gotta listen to it! :-) Oh, and sing-a-long!
Outstanding!
Where do you FIND stuff like the song? That was great!
The Pope, however, is definitely expecting a miracle if he thinks he can engage Muslims in frank and sincere dialogue, with great mutual respect.
As we've seen, "frank & sincere dialogue", in Islam is generally engaged using Semtex, chemical fertilizers and various combustible materials, and respect for any religion other than Islam is demonstrated with a sharp edged cutting instrument, the actual respect occuring at neck level.
Hiya AOW..how many more tantrums and deaths do we have to bear?!!!
Lets see 1400 years of continual Islamo-colonialism and human rights abuses. How about a new headline who give a %&^&^ ^&^&^ what these people think?
The Pope's apology is sheer Monty Python-esque. Recite it in a British accent. PG Wodehouse would be proud.
ARGH!
When's Mr. Ratzinger going to apologize to Christians who believe the Bible is the word of God?
The hair-trigger outrage of the islamofascists is so tiresome. By their actions, these morons prove the Pope's point better than any quote ever could.
AOW, that song was priceless!! I'm emailing it to everyone I know and setting it as my website's music.
But we won't tell you the real names of the people who wrote them, or who the vocalists are, because we respect their privacy.
Not to mention being Salman Rushdie'd.
i love that song!
madze - don't e-me - i put it in my faves!
An now our own Cardinal Pell, officially endorsed B16's message.
We can expect more tantrums tonight.
I loooove it! "I'm sorry you had a heenie about what I said."
I'm going to have to listen to that linked podcast when I get the kiddies off to bed, or at least doing something quiet! ;) (Crayons and paper are the best babysitter ever!)
Great song, thanks for sharing.
Even the semblance of an apology from any infidel only serves to fuel Muslim rage and their sense of victimology--not to mention their fondness for emphasizing "the will of Allah."
The recent outbreak of Muslim rage makes the point that the materila in the centuries-old document which the Pope read still holds true for many Muslims. "Behead the Pope" really proves that Islam is a religion of peace. **snerk**
Cartoonifada, Vaticanifada--what next?
If they harm the Pope, then what next?
Old Soldier--you should get the trademark for that!! "Islam--What a Riot!" Do it. You know you want to....
At any rate, it sure cracked me up. But now that the world bears no resemblance to reality, it's a bit easier to laugh it off.
Mark--if they harm the Pope look forward to a real world version of Kill Bill because I will become Beatrix Kiddo, baby.
If they harm the Pope, then what next?
There will be a TV news special on every channel...
Publius,
I think the Muslims who actually represent a “religion of peace” need to finally stand up and be counted.
Five years after 9/11. Waiting. Waiting.
Even worse, a few "moderates" who did stand up turned out not to be so moderate. For example, Alamoudi, guest at both Clinton and Bush White House, stood side by side with other clerics at the National Cathdral service on 9/14/01; he sounded good to us. Where is he now? Serving time for laundering money to Hamas or Hezbollah.
KuhnKat,
the MODERATE muslims who have actually READ the Quran KNOW that the radicals are the REAL Islam.
For all the yapping to the contrary, there is only one Islam. Oh, there are some different sects, but all of them have in common virulent hatred of Jews--even the Sufis. Do all Muslims act on the teachings of the Koran? No! But those teachings are there. And the militant teachings of the later "revelation" of Allah abrogate the earlier peaceful verses. "Allah" himself said so in the Koran!
Islam doesn't spread by conversion. It spreads by the sword: convert or subjugate--or die.
Another disturbing aspect of Islam....The only sure way to Paradise is to die in the higher jihad, which involves killing infidels. Muslim children are taught this from an early age; once those neural pathways are imprinted, they are very hard to change.
Mr. Beamish,
If they harm the Pope, then what next?
There will be a TV news special on every channel...
And the emphasis will be on how we infidels should understand how Muslims were justified in murdering the Pope.
I can hear it now, from CAIR: "Yes, the Pope shouldn't have been killed. But..."
End result? More people will be afraid to criticize the tenets of Islam.
And let's not forget that the MSM will tell us until they are blue in the face that it was a "radical Muslim" that did it... And that we should discourage a "violent backlash" against the "peaceful, moderate" Muslims that live amongst us.
A few weeks after that, the court systems will be flooded with lawsuits by Muslims that have been "discriminated against" because of hatred due to the Pope's murder... And on, and on.
Duck --
We won't see these "progressive Catholics" rioting, killing and destroying property to make their point, though, will we, or calling for the Pope's assassination?
How do you equate the response of Islam to the Pope's speech, you know, the topic of this thread, with the completely unrelated internal goings-on within the Catholic Church?
Are you in some way using it to justify, even in part, the violent outburst of these Muslims toward the Pope?
Just curious.
KuhnKat,
You [referring to Duck] ALWAYS quack me up!!!
**snicker**
Duck, you just always have to show up to try and spoil the party, don't you? I am a Catholic, and I think that Pope Benedict XVI is one of the most "progressive" leaders we could possibly have in many areas. He is leading the fight in bringing the emphasis on faith back into the light, and back into ordinary life in Europe. His prime concern here on this subject is Europe, and his comments as such should be noted. He is calling on people to reject post-modernist BS and to tear down the modern European taboo against being openly Christian. I don't see this as bad, and his writings on the subject are brilliant.
As far as Turkey is concerned, his comments were well grounded and sound. Turkey arguably doesn't have any place in being a "European nation" at all.
I don't agree with the Pope on every issue, and like many Catholics my views on personal matters of sex are quite different than that of Vatican dictates. I may disagree with the Holy Father on the issues of birth control and his view of gays and their rights, but otherwise I think he is a breath of fresh air for the Church.
Ducky,
Please don't insult the quality and intensity of my honest, heartfelt bigotry and hatred toward moon-worshipping desert barbarians by mentioning it alongside the timid and tepid backpeddalling of the leader of your Mary cult.
Hey there Beamish, whoa nelly! What's with the "Mary cult" stuff? Remember, there are some Catholics out here who are on your side. And in their name, I must tell you that we do not want to be simply lumped into the same category as Ducky. Show me some courtesy here, as I am the anti-Duck. I'm the Catholic anti-Duck. Heeeeheehee
Up, up and away!!
Pim's Ghost,
I follow a simple formula:
Not all Christians are Catholics, not all Catholics are Christians.
Beamish, that's cool. I just think that now is the time for all of us to stick together, not fight amongst ourselves.
