How I'll Begin Summer Vacation

Thanks to The Merry Widow, who sent me this photo in an email.

I'm not this cute when I'm sleeping, and usually I fall asleep with a book in hand. Right now I'm reading Fragile Innocence: A Father's Memoir of His Daughter's Courageous Journey.

I am as exhausted as the kitten in this photograph. And the close of today, the last day of this term's classes, is yet to come.

AoW- Glad you liked them! Personally, I've been at the point of falling asleep with my head on a shelf! Standing up!
May G*D give you grace for the day!

Don't you teachers have an extra week or so of school after the students are gone?

Brooke,
I teach homeschoolers, so I don't have that extra week added on. But I still have finals to grade and evaluations to mail out. So, a few more days of work for me.

WHT & G,
After a few days of some good rest, I'll be back to the blogs. I just need some time to decompress.

TMW,
I could have chosen any of those cute pictures, but in this house, cats rule. We have four of them!

At least you can read a good book. I have been reading restaurant training manuals for a week. I have several weeks to go.

AOW,

"...a few more days of work for me."

Well, you should try to do a lot of it while resting in bed! And even though we may not LOOK as cute as that kitten, don't you wish we could SLEEP that well? Ah, youth!

Missing Link,

I'm not even going to tell you how many cats we have! Ask me my age instead, ask me my income, but don't ask me how many cats we have!

Yes I understand, they do tend to move a bit and thus make counting rather tricky. ;-)

Yours must be a very merry household.

AOW

Your prediction came true and almost 200 responses later no coherent responses came fro the far left. Uptown is almost too stupid to be believed .

I am angry enough at his stupidity to be seriously considering a post . This Blog is not a Special Ed class. We do not waste time on those who lack a basic comprehension of history

Beak,
I saw that deluge of comments at your blog! Must be some kind of record to have that many comments in less than 12 hours.

I was too weary to participate.

Crusader,
I love kittens, the only problem is that they grow up to be cats.

Cats can be difficult, but kittens sap my energy. I've lost quite a bit of antique glassware to the antics of kittens.

One of our cats will be 18 next month--if she makes it to her birthday. I'm contemplating posting a picture of her and writing an article entitled "Cats Get Senile Too!" This particular cat was a rescue from the alley, literally, and took the vow "As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again." Well, now that she's so senile, she forgets that she has eaten. She must eat at least 6 times a day. She defies all the rules; despite gross obesity, according to the vet's recent exam, which included blood work, she is perfectly healthy (at the moment), though almost totally deaf. But it's the senility which is tough for us: she has to be reminded where the potty is and when to go.

Truth-Pain,
Our oldest cat (See above comment) looked much like the picture here when she was a kitten, some 18 years ago.

Conservative Kat,
Kittens make my heart melt too. That's one reason that we have four cats!

Cubed,
Ask me my age instead, ask me my income, but don't ask me how many cats we have!

Okay. I won't ask. But any number more than four can't be easy.

F.B. Jones,
It takes me forever to get through a book when school is in session. But the book I mentioned in this article is a good read. I know a few people who are like Reston's daughter--inexplicable fevers as an infant followed by neurological difficulties for life. I do wish, however, that the author would stick to the story of his daughter and leave out the politics.

Missing Link,
I don't know if "merry" is the exact word for how this household runs with four cats. "Interesting" might be the better choice.

Mr. Beamish,
I have on file your type sketch of a leftist. And I WILL post it at some point.

Well, we only have 1 semigrown kitten. It is a riot trying to make my bed, she has to "help", mostly by biting sheets! My right hand and forearm are a mess because she is teething and LOVES to "play" fight while I'm sitting on the bed. Try to get anything done! She was a birthday present to my daughter, so I guess she's my grandkitty. Had fun at church by showing up with pictures of my brand new grandchild! Heeheehee, that was fun! I call her the assasin kitty for good reason.
Good morning and G*D bless everyone this fine morning!

This kitten looks like an American short hair. Male or female?

But neither political nor Islamic issues these days?

Shah,
I'm taking a bit of a break from the issues. As a teacher, I had too many end-of-term responsibilities to fulfill over the past few weeks and couldn't afford to spend as much time in the blogosphere. But I have a few issues to post on next week.

The kitten is an American shorthair, but I don't know if it's a male or female as this photo isn't a picture of one of my cats--all females. One of these days, I'm going to put pictures of my gorgeous cats up on the web.

I fear for your bulldog, Mr. Ducky; cats are notorious for vanquishing dogs with a single bat across the nose...Stay away from the cats, and no one gets hurt!

I have a dog myself, but love all animals in general.

Watch out for AOW too; when it comes to homework, her mighty paw vanquishes all!

To the Queenly Lioness of Teachers!

My cats are team-players. Three of them will gang up on an opponent. Not a fair fight!
