While we're on the subject of comics, I've got a couple of ideas:
How about a comic book that features Uncle Sam's GI Joe's raping Iraqi children? Or raping each other, since that seems to be even more common.
Or perhaps we can have a comic book that tells the story of how an Israeli snipers get paid off by their little apartheid state when they kill unarmed Palestinian children?
Maybe we can have a comic book that recounts the hillarious tale of how Uncle Sam showered his own GI Joes with Depleted Uranium.
Or one that tells the story of how the butcher of Palestinian civilians now sits comatose in a puddle of his own piss and drool.
Now that one would be a riot!!
My favorite idea, though, is a comic book called Head Coffin that illustrates in gory detail all the bloodied, mangled corpses of Uncle Sam's little GI Joes who've gotten their heads blown off by an heroic Iraqi resistance steadfastly defending their nation from foreign military dictatorship.
Chapter 1:
[Drawing of 4 or 5 inbred hick GI Joes driving down Airport Road in their little hummer listening to Van Halen.]
BOOM!! A massive explosion blows their little HumVee 50 feet in the air, scattering an arm over here, a leg over there, and a head right here in this little box.

I do not doubt the writer received death threats. My own mother received threatening phone calls (not quite death threats, but harm was implied in the conversation) for a mural she was commissioned to do in someone's home with an image of the twin towers. It was featured in a trade magazine, and someone saw it and made threatening phone calls to her a couple of times.
Of course, being a hard-headed Ulsterwoman, she told them to bring it on...

If Muhammad really is the final prophet of God, then God really must be schizophrenic! How could he send down a perfect being in the form of His Son, Jesus Christ Our Lord and Saviour, and then come up with a character like Muhammad, who married Aysha at 6 years of age, and then consummated that marriage when she was 9 years of age, in order to perfect His message to mankind?
Muslims portray this as a gross act of consideration towards that child. Surely it could have been nothing of the sort. Was it not pure lust and perversion?
If Muhammad is really the final messenger of the Creator, then I've had it with the Creator, that's all I can say! He's not worth my time to worship Him!

Probably this comment will be buried in the avalanche of the many responders already. However, this comic book comes from the site run by Dr. Robert Morey. I heard him being interviewed in depth on talk radio. He is no nut case. He poses superb arguments as does Victor Mordecai for the obliteration of at least three of the Islamic holy sites of Mecca, Medina, and Dome Mosque in Jerusalem as a MAJOR means of defeating Islam. We wrote about him as well as Victor on our site. Morey is worth getting to know about.

The inanity of losing it over a COMIC BOOK OR A CARTOON is telling, isn't it? I don't recall anyone going ballistic and threatening beheadings over Mad Magazine, which was a lampoon publication.
I see that the concept of satire (ridicule for the purpose of reforming) is alien to Muslims. But satire is a major genre in Western civilization and dates back at least to Don Quixote. Sometimes I wonder what great satire Mark Twain could write about the peculiar beliefs in Islam; he frequently satirized Christianity, you know. I still remember very well his take on long pastoral prayers in Tom Sawyer. That particular passage is a classic and makes the point very well.

I lost my patience over a period of time. For me, that period began on 9/11, of course. Then came beheadings of hostages in Iraq, Beslan, the beheadings of Indonesian schoolchildren on their way to school, and on and on, up through the cartoonifada and the Rahman case. The various events which awakened me are too numerous to name. Combine varoius atrocities committed by Muslims all over the world and the few atrocities averted because of Western condemnation with the lack of "moderates" stampeding to reclaim their faith. My patience has ended.

I've wondered about Anum's gender. I've stayed away from the blog over there, but I have noticed some discrepancies in Anum's posted comments here and elsewhere. In one particular case (elsewhere), I noticed a big difference--a sort of ESL thing. I taught ESL for years and am pretty good at spotting language patterns. I'm reserving my decision, but I think I've figured out what's going on. I've also been keeping track of IP addresses.
I could be wrong in my assessment, so I'll watch a bit more.

I've never said that America is "pure." I'm more of a cynic about that than you might think.
Nevertheless, I do love this country, warts and all.
Islamists are religious fundamentalists, so I agree with Nothing is pure and nothing is a dangerous as religious fundamentalists who believe they are.
I can, of course, cite some Christians who fall into that group. Hence, I am a total believer in the separation of organized religion and the government.
Ah, the Vietnam War! I had a problem with that conflict. I didn't march against it, but neither did I beat the drum for it. I didn't lose any friends or family over there, but I personally know several individuals who returned, with all the emotional baggage.
Socialism might indeed contain some good ideas, but the flaw is that it depends on people to put forth their best all the time. And people just don't do that.
I am a capitalist, no doubt about it. But I'm surely not a rich one. And capitalism is ugly when moral conviction evaporates; I think that lack of ethics is part of the problem today. I think back to what I know of Andrew Carnegie; not a perfect man, but a man who wanted to help others. He popped into my head because one of the libraries he funded has been in the news here in the D.C. area.
