"From the House of Family Jihad"

Avenging Apostate, who posts as a member of the team at Pedestrian Infidel, recently wrote an article which deserves a careful reading. Excerpt:
"I knew all along that the decision that I have made—converting to Christianity from Islam—would have undesirable consequences. I knew the path I chose wasn’t a walk in the park. But I guess I, somehow, managed to deny this truth for quite awhile. Somewhere in my mind, I thought I was living in a perfect world, that somehow (however illogical it might sound to those who know about my situation) it was all going to be alright.

"Recently, I found out how wrong I really was. I had my fears realized and that realization for me has been earth-shaking and profound. The world has taken on different, frightening dimensions, and I don’t think it will ever be the same...."

Morning, AoW! How's your back and what did the doctor say? How did your classes go?
I have asked for prayer for AA from my ekklesia, that young man is in a tough place. We need to remember all the Christians who are in mohammadin countries, especially the families of the 3 men executed in Indonesia yesterday! It will come to us soon enough! First is vilification, marginalization, demonazation then the martyrdoms! Be prepared!
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

I'd be curious to see what those questions are that were sent in AA's general direction.

I've been chatting and corresponding with AA for over a year now. I'm certain that this is a legitimate case, and his story is true and authentic, or I never would have brought him onboard at PI. And before anyone asks, no, he's never asked me for money, just for advice and moral support.

In my experience, the people I've found to be utterly disbelieving of AA's writings tend to be precisely the folks who have an ideological or theological axe to grind. In other words, those people are the Islamists and the Leftists who stand foresquare against everything the Counter Jihad movement stands for.

It's ok to be skeptical of AA, but I'm confident the truth will do him only credit.

AJ- If you have read my comments to AA, I have been nothing but supportive! And you did get ExP's questions, he just asked why AA didn't mention Jesus and speak of his actual salvation experience! ExP used to be a pastor and he just likes to make sure that the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted. I've communicated with him, ExP, and seen the questions, even you commented they were perfectly fine! ExP would be a wonderful man for AA to be in contact with, he's been through a lot and loves people! But a 77 yr. old country preacher does like to make sure! As for the truth, like I said I believe AA will come through with shining colors!

Anti-Jihadist: I am in no way nor means liberal nor questionable in any way, and if you knew my background, you might be surprised.

It's just that I hold doubt against apostates. I have been betrayed once before by an apostate. Since then, I have followed the Russian outlook on Muslims - do not trust them and never turn your back on them.

Matter of fact, I am the creator of your logo. I used to head the North American branch of Anti-Jihad International - the website where you are getting that from was created and or edited by me. My old site may or may not exist anymore; Google Anti-Jihad International - American branch to see what comes up. I think it was a geocities website I maintained a few years ago.

I am, revealing myself somewhat. I am the guy that used to go by the name USKafir. I dropped it a while back due to a death threat, and went with Andrew Whitehead to form up and implement Anti-CAIR.

Steve,

It's an honor to meet you, if only in cyberspace. I am very fortunate that you have blazed a trail for us, so to speak. Thank you for creating the logo that I've been using all this time.

I appreciate your negative experiences with apostates, but I refuse to judge all apostates based on the experiences or actions of one or several of them. Ultimately, all persons must be judged as individuals. This may be an impossible standard I'm setting for myself, but it's one I try to live by.

As for my friend AA, he's risking everything by blogging and by participating in our movement. The UAE makes no secrets about its internet censorship and monitoring. For that reason, and many others, I believe AA's story.

Steve, you've done beautiful work Anti-CAIR, an organization I wholeheartedly support. Think I'll be linking my blog to that site now, thanks much for the reminder.

Merry Widow,

Yes, I now recall the email in question. I wasn't sure at first the 'questions' being referred to were the ones in the email from the nice gentleman, a retired pastor from Florida. I apologise for the memory lapse. I chatted with AA earlier today, who tells me he has the questions in hand. I expect he will be replying in the very near future.

AJ:

You're very welcome. What pleases me the most is the rise in support from people like you all over the world. Now, five years ago, we used to tell people that the Muslim problem will eventually become household knowledge. I am already seeing this happen. Every single day news reports go by and it's about Islamists. People are catching on and this is good.

Your post here and mine actually inspired me to post an article I wrote months ago, and it's about Andy. Go check it out on my blog.

As for AA, your apostate, he's probably right, and he is living dangerously because ALL Islamic countries are monitoring Internet activity these days. Please send him my wishes and welcome aboard from madness, intolerance and fear. As for his father, it's sad. As for his mother, she lives in constant fear; as we all know, Muslim women are oppressed by the very religious ideology that they practice.

As for ACAIR, thanks - but thank Andy. I posted a link to his email address. Andy and the ACAIR team greatly appreciates all of your support.

AJ- Yes, ExP is a sweetie, I have spoken on the phone with him and believe he would be a wonderful mentor and prayer warrior in AA's corner! I have asked my church to pray for him on a constant basis. I run a blogger community prayer chain and I put his plight on it as soon as A0W alerted me to it! So he is being covered in prayer everyday!

The real joy of being a Christian living in a land ruled by shariah law is that any two Muslim males can testify in court that you had become a Muslim and if you deny it you could be put to death for blasphemy.

Oh well, how many 1st and 2nd Century Christian martyrs were there at the hand of the Romans? Islamic killers have probably surpassed their kill rate by now.

I wonder how many of us "Christians" would REALLY have the stones to admit being a Christian with a 12 gauge in our face?

Hope all is well AOW. Will keep you in my prayers!

They'll stone you just like they said they would
They'll stone you when you're trying to go home
And they'll stone you when you're there all alone
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

Well, they'll stone you when you're at the breakfast table
They'll stone you when you are young and able
They'll stone you when you're riding in your car
And they'll stone you when you're playing your guitar
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

Well, they'll stone you when you're walking on the street
They'll stone you when you're tryin' to keep your seat
They'll stone you when you're tryin' to make a buck
Then they'll stone you and then they'll say "good luck"
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned

Well, they'll stone you when you're at the breakfast table
They'll stone you when you are young and able
They'll stone you and they'll say that you are brave
They'll stone you when you're sent down in your grave
But I would not feel so all alone
Everybody must get stoned"

TMW mentioned that I'm going through some physical suffering right now. True! And because of the pain I'm enduring right now--and have been suffering through for most of this week--I haven't been doing much here in the blogosphere. The docs are going to confer and try to come up with a solution.

Meanwhile, friends in the blogosphere, be patient with me. I am still here, just not as obviously present as I usually am.

Okay. I'm telling now. I didn't want to say much of anything until I got a diagnosis and the opinion of a superior expert.

Pray for (1) pain to ease and (2) docs to come up with an effective plan to address my misery.

And pray that YOU never get rear-ended by someone who is underinsured!

At some point, I'll post about my woes--front and center. All the data are not yet in.

I'll pray that NOBODY gets rearended at all! I had that happen to me several years ago, fortunately the unfortunate soul who hit me was only going about 5-10 mph! Poor guy, I was the last of 3 white vehicles turning left, he thought I had gone, bent down to pick up a pencil and bam! He was in worse shape than I was! I called him later and talked to his wife, I had a very slight case of whiplash, he was about to have a nervous breakdown!
But praying for you is a part of taking care of the family!

A few here have expressed skepticism about AA's being "the real deal." I understand that skepticism as I, too, was skeptical at first. After all, in cyberspace, many individuals assume other identities. But after reading AA's posts over a period of several months, I've come to the conclusion that he is indeed a Christian.

Florian said, I wonder how many of us "Christians" would REALLY have the stones to admit being a Christian with a 12 gauge in our face?

A few years back, one of the residential compounds in Saudi was breached by a terrorist attack. Some here may recall that incident. I have some American friends living in that compound. One of my friends told me that the AQ terrorists went door to door asking, "Are you Muslim?" If the answer was no, the residents, both adults and children, in that apartment were killed on the spot. Several Christians denied Jesus under those circumstances. It's easy to say, "I'd never deny my Lord." But when faced with the deaths of one's children followed by one's own death, Christians can be weak. I cast no blame in their direction.

Being a Christian, even a secret one, in a Muslim society is so difficult that we in a free society cannot begin to understand how these oppressed Christians must feel. In theory, we can say, "I'd stand up for my faith" and "I'd be as fearless as Stephen in the Book of Acts." Would we really? Too many times, even here in a free society, Christians don't speak up--out of fear of not being liked, of offending someone, of being laughed at, etc. Remember that Jesus' disciples, who had lived with and walked with their Lord for three years, fled when He was arrested and that Peter denied his Lord three times.

Here in America, we take our freedoms and our rights for granted. AA doesn't have those freedom or those rights in the UAE. Indeed, he is trapped. And how many others like him?

At 9/24/2006 6:38 AM, Blogger The Merry Widow said...

AoW- How right you are, we have to depend on G*D in circumstances like that. But remember that in Exodus, the midwives lied about the baby boys and G*D rewarded them because it was to save lives. It very definitely has to be led of the Lord! I have no doubts, but I just like to make sure, there being as you said so many who use and abuse! Discernment is called for! G*D didn't scold Gideon for making sure!
My prayers go up daily for AA, and I will continue to lift him up, also looking forward to meeting him in Heaven!
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

Speaking of radical Islam, you can see
http://www.aei.org/publications/filter.all,pubID.23872/pub_detail.asp

"Selling Out Moderate Islam" by Reuel Marc Gerecht of AEI.

He says as follows.

"Islamic civilization may yet produce its Edward Gibbon, a sincere religious voyager who ends up scrutinizing the foundations of his civilization with a skeptical, cynical, and, at times, profoundly unfair irreligious eye. It would appear that if President Clinton had his way, a Muslim Gibbon would not be welcome in the United States."

Shah,
Thank you for that link. I'm not sure that I agree with all the opinions expressed there; nevertheless, it is a good and thought-provoking article. I noted the following paragraph:

n the Middle Ages, Christian theologians said vastly worse things about the Prophet Muhammad than the Danish cartoons implied. Back then, Muslims cognizant of what the Christians were writing usually took it in stride, not too perturbed by the ruminations and calumnies of a superseded faith. Non-Muslims living beyond the writ of Islamic law were not expected to respect a prophet not their own.

I conclude that the present whipping up of Muslims into a fury is serving a particular agenda, that of increasing the participation in jihadist activities. However, I don't believe that tip-toeing around Muslims sensitivities is the proper route, because that kind of appeasement also serves to promote the Islamic belief "the will of Allah," as well as continuing to subvert the essence of Western civilization--the ideal of freedom (speech, press, etc.).

From the link left by Free Cyprus:

Christians face jail for giving treats to children of Muslims (About 10,000 Christians were killed in Indonesia between 1998 and 2003 and about 1,000 churches were burnt down by Muslim mobs, according to campaigners. Although religious conflict has eased in recent years campaigners say that about 100 churches have been closed down in the past five years in West Java.)

You've got to be kidding me (from the article above "Christians face jail..."):
"Christians helping in Aceh after the Boxing Day tsunami were asked to leave for making Muslims uncomfortable"

Avenging Apostate,
First, let me thank you for your well wishes. I am still awaiting more word from the various doctors as they address my injury. At least I now have experts working on my problem!

[W]hat I am here to tell is that what I am going through is bad but there are others going through worse.

Your voice here in the blogosphere is an important source whereby we can learn about the personal perspective on the persecution and silencing of Christians in Islamic nations. As you said, I write about the situation I am in, the problems I am facing so that people will get first hand information on what actually goes on in the inner Islamic circles.

How difficult your circumstances are as you cannot trust even your own family! We in the West enjoy religious freedom and really cannot fully understand your torment. Nevertheless, what you have to say helps us to understand, and that understanding is so important.

As you know from our private communications, as well as from comments I've posted to various articles you've written at Pedestrian Infidel, I do not count you as an alien. On the other hand, I understand why many are reluctant to trust you.

I admire you for having the courage to take the risk of speaking out. Stay strong in the Lord. He will take care of you, according to His perfect will. Every day, your Christian brothers and sisters lift you up in prayer. Remember that as you face your daily struggles. You have a family in Christ!
