The Origins Of CAIR

Mr. Beamish and George Mason reminded me of the importance of exploring and revealing the origins of CAIR.

After some searching, I've obtained the information, somewhat buried in a 2003 article :
"...The Wahhabist Saudi government began its ongoing 'colonization' of the West in earnest after World War II, Palazzi [2003 secretary general of the Italian Muslim Association] said, sending students abroad to study.

"Their mission, he said, was to create what was initially called the Muslim Student Federation, then 'after it became rooted in the country, to start creating the local mosques, local organizations and groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations,' or CAIR.
"Though it claims to represent moderate Muslims, Palazzi calls the Washington, D.C.-based lobby group the 'U.S. section of Hamas.'

"... CAIR is a spin-off of the Islamic Association of Palestine, a group identified by a U.S. intelligence official as a front for Hamas. Awad was the group's public-relations adviser, and CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper also was an employee. Awad praised Iran's revolutionary leader Ayatollah Khomeini and at a university forum in 1994 declared, 'I am in support of the Hamas movement.'

"Hamas itself has its roots in the Egypt-based Muslim Brotherhood, the group from which al-Qaida was born, noted Palazzi.

"The difference between al-Qaida and Hamas is not over belief in the legitimacy of terrorism, but whether terror is to be used as the primary strategic tool or as only one of the possible tools, he said.

"'The leaders of Hamas and Brotherhood accept and promote suicide bombing and terror, but they believe it is not going to work in every circumstance,' Palazzi explained. 'In some cases, it is useful to have a kind of political activity. In some cases it is useful to resort to diplomacy.'

"Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood support terror in Kashmir, Israel and Chechnya, for example, he pointed out, but say that in the West, terror is not the best strategy.

"They say, according to Palazzi, 'We would rather infiltrate the West by our network and take advantage of the role of religious freedom in democratic legal systems and create our legal basis in those countries.'

"The Wahhabi aim, he says, is nothing short of bringing the whole world under its domination."
How is it, then, that our government allows CAIR to operate here in the United States? Why is WMAL Radio allowing CAIR to exert pressure on the broadcasts of Michael Graham and Geoff Metcalf?

Please don't omit reading this by George Mason, who has written an excellent commentary about the efforts of CAIR to silence talk-show hosts on WMAL Radio. It's important!

What is needed, my dear friend, is for someone to infiltrate CAIR so that we can learn the truth, as opposed to always having to contend with their blatant lies. BTW, the story was not made up.

For those that do not think the islamo-fascists can think and plan ahead read Mason's article. This is a group with long term goals and too often, there are those in the west that insist on short term sitcom/drama solutions.

CAIR is a blight on the Islamic faith.

They also lobby in a bi-partisan manner and have a lot of money to spend. It will be difficult to attack them.

GM & NY Girl,
Apparently no one individual nor any organization speaks for all Muslims. But CAIR has joined with other Muslim organizations to give the impression that, together, they are speaking for all Muslims about the recent "fatwah against terror," as it's been termed.

Here's an excerpt from a recent weblog entry by Daniel Pipes @
http://www.danielpipes.org/blog/488 :
"Non-Muslims can be forgiven if they assume the reference to 'innocent lives' includes those traveling on the Underground and bus lines in London three weeks earlier. But the term 'innocent lives' can be much more restricted in application...

"Muslim statements condemning the killing of 'innocents' cannot be taken at face value but must be probed to find out who exactly are considered innocent and who not. In brief, Can infidels be innocents?"

And Pipes uses words of Muslims (radicals, I would guess, but I don't know for sure) to support his comments. He also points out that a question has to be posed for a fatwah to be issued; such was not the case with the "fatwah against terror."

My personal take on the "fatwah against terror" is that it's another pr ploy and an attempt to lull us infidels into a false sense of security.

The Muslim March Against Terror, held in Washington, D.C., was nearly unattended. CAIR and MAS, to mention two, did not attend. Not comforting that the march failed as a rallying point.

I do wish that I was hearing Muslims objecting to CAIR's and exposing the fatwah (assuming that Daniel Pipes is correct). The silence from Muslims on those two issues alarms me. If there is to be any reform of Islam, it must come from within Islam. Maybe that is happening, though, and this infidel (me) is unaware of it.

NY Girl,
Yes, Palazzi is a Sufi Muslim. BTW, the title of the WND article to which I linked is interesting, especially in light of recent developments in Israel: "Sheik joins rabbi's condemnation of Arafat, Warns U.S. against pressuring Israel to accept Palestinian state."

Good post. Put this together with the Nazi roots of Hizbollah and Fatah, and we have a formidable enemy who seems to be as old as time.

I'm sure you're all aware of the CAIR founding members who already are in prison on terrorism related charges.

Bonnie Blue,
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I worked hard to find the info I wanted.

As a teacher, I can't help but educate.

Mr. Beamish,
That last one

is a doozie! It really illustrates the power of CAIR.

Great blog fuel, and the kaching isn't going into the Saudis' pockets.

Thanks, Mr. Beamish!

Gindy,
Don't hold your breath for the MSM to cover this story. The MSM bow and scrape to CAIR. It's disgusting!

I've emailed many MSM managers and some who aren't MSM. The silence is deafening.

It's now politically incorrect--on both the right and the left, and everywhere in between--for the media to ask CAIR some incisive quesions.

AOW, I'm going to do a little post about this to direct folks over here. And you're on my blog roll for good now. I want to be added to your list of people you send emails to, when you write stuff like this. Awesome.

As for CAIR, I think it is a front group that is using our own policies to inflitrate the country.
You should start a CAIR WATCH blog roll...another way to put the pressure on. I'll help you with that. Maybe we could do a blog burst thing once a week!
I'll email you.

Great piece, AOW!

Your answer to Gindy was spot-on; the MSM never met a jihadist killer thug they didn`t like, and they will never, ever spotlight a group like CAIR because it makes Islamic thugs look bad and George Bush look good.

I can`t imagine how American owned networks have gotten so far to the left that they`ll side with our enemies. Gee, I kinda thought ABC stood for AMERICAN broadcasting Company!

Raven and Timothy,
I agree that the blogosphere needs to take on CAIR. The media will not--and I mean both the left AND the right media. Cowards! Dhimmis!

Except for XRadio. There have been some items there.

Go here
http://www.anti-cair-net.org/

Even Durbin the Turban and Schumer have criticized CAIR. We never hear about their words, do we?

All who "get it" about CAIR should post the above link on their sites.
