Returning To Normal?

Sheba has turned the corner. Blood work and urinalysis were negative; we didn't conduct any scans. The vet's best guess is that Sheba was suffering from indigestion due to tainted cat food and a hairball.

On my own medical front, I'm seeing improvement in my lower-back pain. The combination of medication, medical massage, and physical therapy is working wonders. Finally, after more than a year of searching for a diagnosis, I have an appropriate treatment plan and times with NO PAIN!

Sometimes it takes crises for us to appreciate normality.

T'ain't that the truth! I'm delighted with Sheba's diagnosis, Her Majesty may not get back to the tasks and responsibilities of her office. Noblise Oblige, you know!
As for you, Hallelujah!
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

TMW,
As of late last night, Sheba started moving around and asking for food. Delivering food to her on her mat was a job, and finding what bites would tempt her was difficult. Like old people, Sheba lost her taste for food and was slow to resume her eating habits. If improvement continues, Sheba will see another Christmas. She loves Christmas! The special food and the multicolored lights lift her spirits. Plus, we'll build a fire in the fireplace.

My physical rehab has some distance to go before I'm "restored." In one month, I'll see an ortho who specializes in hips. Meanwhile, I am pursuing PT and massage.

Great news! I wanted to hear good news because I just listened to Laura Ingraham's show & she was grieving the loss of her dog. She had him put down yesterday.

Sheba is returning to her usual self, albeit less vocal.

Last night, my husband fell asleep on the floor next to her and her mat. I guess that he must've started snoring so loudly that even an almost-deaf cat couldn't sleep. Sheba moved to "my spot" on the couch, where I found her this morning--all bright-eyed and responsive. I haven't seen her get up onto the couch in years!

Farmer,
Careful, careful! Don't hurt yourself.

Mussolini,
Well, hello. Long time.

Cube,
Losing a beloved pet is losing a member of the family.

Nanc,
As country folk are wont to say, I was having "a bad patch." Too much crisis management!

tmw,

Although I made many mistakes in my youth, fortunately THAT was not one of them.

always,

I'm okay. tmw tracked us down and put me and my horses in a cab that took us home safely. But my head does still hurt... like an elephant steppin' on a pumpkin.

FJ- PTL! That was very wise of you my salty friend! Try ginger for your head, 1/3 tsp. ginger powder in 8 ozs. of room temp. water. Stir and drink. Doesn't taste bad and the shaogal in it blocks prostaglandins, which cause pain. Works for barometer caused headaches too!

Farmer,
I thought that maybe you'd been listening to The Doors. ;)

TMW,
Uh, I see that you know some rememdies. Ginger is wonderful. I've used it for nausea--a little trick I picked up from my Korean students in Adult ESL.

The Brandenburg Concertos... counterpoint

You know Bach!

Although I think I danced it about two octaves lower than normal.

I'm trying to do a little research on commedia de'arte, so please forgive the frequent misteps and stumbles. The shoes are a little too big for my feet.

Farmer,
Bach can make one feel as if the brain is splitting. In a way, that's exactly what counterpoint does--divide the brain. Afterwards, one is exhausted.

How I love counterpoint! Am I a masochist, or am I improving my mental processes?

I think it helps at inter-hemispheric calibration. It lets my wit dance a bit by distracting my reason. And I hate to say this, but even I don't know what's likely to bubble up from my subconscious. It can be quite embarrassing when I go back and read what I have written.

I dunno. After listening to or playing Bach, my concentration improves for other tasks.

And I hate to say this, but even I don't know what's likely to bubble up from my subconscious. It can be quite embarrassing when I go back and read what I have written.

But the subconscious can be so much fun. ;)

WHT,
I tell ya, I was worn out today. I had to take a LONG nap. But not before I took Sheba for a walk in the front yard. The weather was outstanding early this afternoon before the winds started kicking up. Queen Sheba doesn't like the wind; it ruffles her fur.

Not that the PT has intensified, not all my days are pain-free. And my alleviator--the pulsating shower-head--starting acting up this morning. It's clogged with mineral deposits, I think. Time to visit Home Depot.

Tell Sheba, "Meow, Baby!" for me. ;)

Sheba has become quite vocal in her dotage. When she was ailing, she was quiet, and my husband and I missed her squawking. She's back in full voice now--and will answer you back, Benning. LOL.
