"Appeasement Danish Style"

"While most media accounts of the "cartoon jihad" focused on the publication of the cartoons, and on the ensuing violent reaction by some Muslims -- who were depicted by the much of the press as victims! -- few reporters have ventured to describe the increasingly hostile climate that Muslim extremists had succeeded in creating in Denmark before the publication...."

My, my, my - you're still on the cartoons? What are you, 7 years old?

Are you aware that important things are happening in the world? More important, I dare say, than a few racist cartoonists working for a newspaper that toes the facist line of the facist party running a European white-supremacist enclave.

Helicoptors going down in Iraq, GI Joes dying in Afghanistan, GM breaking every promise they've ever made to their workers, capital flight running away from the greenback, an immigrant uprising, general strikes in France, and another leftist victory in another South American election.

I mean, there's so much out there for you to prattle and whine about.

And you choose cartoons.

That tells us something about you, doesn't it?

Then what do you care, john b? If it's all just "so much nonsense", why are you even bothering to post about it?

Terror is a very interesting business. While some rustlers like to imitate the cowboys singing their songs, they're really just forcing the cattle to huddle closer together while the other group prepares to light a fire and start a stampede. And I see that like a "good" cowboy you've got your water bucket out, just in case. Better make sure you don't get burned (for your "flight plan" to Venezuela has already been filed, hasn't it? Rustlers are such "boasters").

btw - I suspect that the bucket of water you "appear" to be carrying contains some liquid other than water in it. Stalin used to carry one, too.

Iran sends a message to the West by boasting about its high-speed torpedo

"The message was intended as a signal to western military planners considering attacks to deal with Iran's nascent nuclear capability."

john brown said "When you're a serious person reading a dozen newspapers a day, you need a little levity in your life...

I'm afraid you need a little more than that, john... I think you actually need some "seriousness".

Nietszche, "Untimely Meditations, Schopenhauer - The Philosopher as Educator"

Whoever is seeking to answer the question of what the philosopher as educator can mean in our time has to contest this view, which is very widespread and is propagated in our universities; he must declare: it is a downright scandal that such nauseating, idolatrous flattery can be rendered to our time by supposedly thinking and honorable men--a proof that one no longer has the slightest notion how different the seriousness of philosophy is from the seriousness of a newspaper. Such men have lost the last remnant not only of a philosophical but also of a religious mode of thinking, and in their place have acquired not even optimism but journalism, the spirit and spiritlessness of our day and our daily papers. Every philosophy which believes that the problem of existence is touched on, not to say solved, by a political event is a joke- and pseudo-philosophy. Many states have been founded since the world began; that is an old story. How should a political innovation suffice to turn men once and for all into contented inhabitants of the earth? But if anyone really does believe in this possibility he ought to come forward, for he truly deserves to become a professor of philosophy at a German university, like Harms in Berlin, Jürgen Meyer in Bonn and Carrière in Munich.

Really? I though I was simply doing a little "Ruskie bashing" w/ a side of "Iranian technological incompetence" thrown in for good measure.

You know us rascist bigots. We can't get enough of that blind hatred.

But just to change the dynamic back...

Osama bin Laden was inspecting a recon company in a remote post in the desert of Iraq. During his first walk around the camp, he noticed a camel hitched up behind Osama's tent. He asked the local imam why the camel is kept there.

"Well sir," was the nervous reply, "as you know, there are 250 men here and no women.

And sir, sometimes the men have ..m-m-m.... urges.

That's why we have the camel."

Osama then said, "I can't say that I condone this, but I understand about urges, so the camel can stay."

About a month later, Osama started having a real problem with his own urges. Crazy with passion, he asked the terrorist on duty to bring the camel to his tent. Putting his Koran behind the camel, Osmama stood on it, and had wild, insane s*x with the camel.

When he was done, he asked the local imam, "Is that how the men do it?"

"Uh, no sir," the local imam replied.

"They usually just ride the camel into town where the girls are."

Happy now?

On May 22, 2003, in Baghdad, a nine-year-old girl was abducted from the stairs of the building where she lived, taken to an abandoned building nearby, and raped. A family friend who saw the young girl immediately following the rape informed international human rights groups.

The report quotes the family friend, "She was sitting on the stairs, here, at 4:00 p.m. It seems to me that probably they hit her on the back of the head with a gun and then took her to [a neighboring] building. She came back fifteen minutes later, bleeding [from the vaginal area]. [She was still bleeding two days later, so] we took her to the hospital."

A human rights group saw a copy of the medical report by the U.S. military doctor who treated the baby girl six days later. The report documented bruising in the vaginal area, a posterior vaginal tear, and a broken hymen. Lieutenant Monica Casmaer, a physician’s assistant attached to a U.S. military unit, examined the nine year old girl. with the pediatrician. She described the injuries as fairly severe, especially given the time that had elapsed before she was examined.

Ducky I have an interesting concept that I hope you can learn from. When you make an accusation you need to have evidence to back it up.

Many people in this blog, including myself, accuse Islamists of intolerance and assert that they are prone to violence. Some critics differ and say that the problem exists in the Western world. Therefore, we must provide proof (as much as our critics need to do). These riots reveal a pattern in Islamist fundamentalism that is relevant and timely to this discussion.

The problems began when some Danish Imams went on a tour of the Middle East calling for action against Denmark (ironically this took place a couple of months after the publication of the offending cartoons). The spokesperson for the group threatened to bomb a member of the Danish Parliament and the group itself spread false information regarding the cartoons (showing a picture of a pig squealing contest and falsely stating that it was one of the published cartoons).

Despite several apologies from the Danish newspaper that published the cartoons there were numerous bomb threats and attacks on their website (as well as hundreds of other such threats on Scandinavian organizations). This was followed by riots that broke out throughout the Muslim world. There were riots in Morocco, Libya, Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kenya, Nigeria, Somalia and Indonesia. Please note that these are locations that I can verify that there was violence, there were many more demonstrations that included flag burnings and threats of violence, but I could not verify any actual acts of rioting in those instances and did not include them in this list.

I don’t know of anyone who has tallied the death toll from the riots but I can tell you that at least 127 people were killed in Nigeria, about 11 in Libya, 9 in Afghanistan, an unknown amount in Pakistan and a Catholic Priest, Andrea Santoro, was murdered while praying in a Turkish church as revenge for the cartoons (there were some other deaths but this list is not complete). Embassies were attacked, looted and damaged in Beirut, Damascus and Tehran.

The scope of the violence was far ranging and completely out of proportion to its catalyst. Particularly disturbing was the fact that Islamists were so willing to blame and target innocent parties with little of no connection to the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. Collective victimization of a country and its citizens for the actions of this newspaper should be unacceptable. Especially in light of Islamists propensity for this kind of behavior.

Ducky you stated, “What you should pay attention to freedomnow is the fact that the cartoons are sooooo last season. Nobody except right wing blogs and right wing rabies radio mentions them.”

First off, it is sad that the Left is afraid to address Islamic extremism. Secondly, this is a current event. The riots continued as recently as one month ago. March 4th 40,000 people marched in Pakistan with some rock throwing and the usual slogans like “Hang those who insulted the prophet” and “Death to America” (even though, our major newspapers never even published the cartoons), 20,000 protested in Turkey on the same day.

On March 29th the Swedish foreign minister was denied entry into the genocidal country of Sudan in direct retaliation for the cartoons.

On March 30th A group of 27 Danish Muslim organizations filed a defamation lawsuit against the Jyllands-Posten newspaper over the cartoons.

Yesterday March 3rd Sudan blocked a top UN humanitarian official because he is Norwegian in yet another cartoon retaliation.

…I hope that your effort to whitewash this current event is due to ignorance and is not intentional…

Censorman, Uncle Sam has been working with alCIAda for 2 decades. That you choose to ignore it, that you refuse to follow the money or the connections - sounds like a 'leftist'.

Hell, Uncle Sam even paid $100,000 to your favorite Beastie Boy-loving, Infidel girlfriend-having patsy, Muhammed Atta. Got any more leftist fairy tales you want to spin?

As for the raping, Uncle Sam is legendary. They rape girls, they rape women. They rape female soldiers, they rape military students.

In fact, besides murder and torture, rape seems to be their highest priority:
Defend your rapist heros
Defend your rapist heros
Defend your rapist heros
GI Joes Rape
GI Joes Rape

And then of course, there's the legendary special about how women are oppressed in the military published by the pro-war Denver Post

And then we've got Benito ignoring Uncle Sam's well-documented history of rape, torture, and mass slaughter with chemcical and nuclear weapons by redirecting the discussion to every wingnuts favorite the invisible man, Zarqawi. Not your research assistant. Check the government record. Read newspapers. Check out a library.

So is anyone who disagrees with a Leftist automatically labeled a “Censor”? I didn’t delete anyone’s post or ban anyone either.

If you don’t agree with me that’s your problem, not mine. It doesn’t make you a censor.

You said that the CIA gives orders to bin Laden. All I asked is how you came to such a conclusion when there are no credible sources to verify such an accusation in any govt record, newspaper or library. You insist that there is but wont reference such evidence.

Is intelligent debate so hard?

Freedom Now,
Is intelligent debate so hard?

Looks that way.

When commenters get banned from site after site, they are restricted to fewer sites and vomit forth more bile.

LOL. You are indeed the nonpareil of trolls. LOL again.

It's hard to see through all the smoke, but I think your assessment is correct.

FJ,
Lo siento por lo que hizo.

"Hizo" o "hice"?

Ud. no necesita decir Lo siento. Ud. es amigo de este lugar.

This is intriguing, JoBro. The government records are honest, but the CIA agents running the mind control lasers that make fundamentalist Muslims support Al Qaida aren't?

Been pillaging the medicine cabinet again?

I never think to use Babel Fish, or the like. That non-computer upbringing I had. ;)

Knowing where to find the information is key!

I'm not sure that I'd trust the BBC as a reliable source. Confirmation? Links?

Duck will, however, allude to what happened in the Ukraine.
