Too Little, Too Late

Statement from John Kerry, from this source:
As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop.

I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.

It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy. I don’t want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops.
Having had two uncles who served at Omaha Beach and one who served on the front lines of the Pacific Theater, I find Senator Kerry's apology hollow and just as offensive as his failed "joke." My uncles volunteered to serve on the front lines because they loved America — not because they flunked out of school. Besides, the apology came after pressure from his fellow Democrats. As I see it, their primary concern was and is the November 7 election. Senator Kerry's apology is nothing more than pandering for votes.

The photograph below sends a more polite message than I'd like to send:

Wow! That picture is everywhere, AOW! I stole mine from Amy Proctor. I love it! I think those trooops had a ball putting it together. LOL! Good for them.

As for Kerry, he's simply in love with himself. But I guess he has to be; no one else is loving him right now, not even members of his own party. :)

Just when you want to stay angry at Bush, Kerry appears.

Kerry helped to get the Republican vote out in 2004 … I know I voted against him. Now it looks like he’s going to help again. He’s better than Nader. Now if they bring back Michael Moore, the Republicans may actually gain.

But perhaps they've learned. Notice how the Dems are rallying behind Kerry. Far behind! Miles away!

he needs to grow a pair and apologize on tv instead of on his website...I heard one pundit say it was like being fired by email

Kerry remind me of when I force my three-year old to apologize:

He doesn't want to, doesn't mean it, and only does it 'cause he knows my wrath will be worse than the "I'm sorry."

Unfortunately, Kerry will never understand one day why he was made to make it.

He put up a non-apology on his website. What a chicken***t thing to do.

Now the lame stream media is trying to sweep it all under the rug as fast as possible. This is old news. They want to talk about Michael J. Fox some more.

Sheesh.

I agree that talk of pulling out of Iraq is not helpful. True, there is no way to "win" in Iraq, but the consequences of leaving a failed state, and broad regional conflict is just too terrible to contemplate.

It is far better that the US expend 5,000 a year in casualties and a few hundred billion dollars annually for the next 20 years if it can keep the sectarian violence in Iraq at a simmer as it is now.

The simple fact is that Iraqis are incapable of governing themselves, or providing internal security (no matter how much training or help is offered), so the US needs to step up and provide security indefinitely. Americans just need to suck in their guts and realize that this is the price the country has to pay to keep the world safe.

The costs from pulling out of Iraq (e.g. leading to a regional war with Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, etc) would FAR outweigh the pain of an indefinite American occupation of Iraq.

Up here in Kerry country (New England) people should check out the message boards on this pompous fool. Normally a very liberal city, Boston, I have read comment after comment about how Kerry has absolutely BLOWN it this time. People don't want to be associated with him now. His own people who elect him are questioning these latest words of the Lurch.

I do think we will remember this more than Global Tests and Flip Flops.

Infinitesimal apology, with the "as-usual" qualifier appended. Why even bother, John? The smart folks won't believe you anyway; the dumb folks always have!

this may have been said in many ways, but we know he apologized because he had to, not that he wanted to.
And he wondered about the tenacity of the Swift Boat men

John (Yawn) Kerry didn't "botch" any joke. He has no sense of humor, so that's impossible.

Kerry said exactly what he thought would get him the most money and votes in front of a college Liberal/Daily Kos crowd.

Like any Lefty, he's torn between fundraising, the truth of what he thinks, and whether or not revealing his true feelings will get him in trouble.

Sunshine Patriot, Winter Soldier, Autumn Traitor.

What a bastage. He has to toss in some crap against the Republicans right in the middle of his smarmy and fake apology.

I wish Kerry were a blind man. I'd leave the plunger in the toilet with the handle sticking up.

What a waste of space John Kerry is. If there were Oplympian prizes for vacuity he would have to win the gold. I can't but help think of him as a male version of Cindy Sheehan.

He conveniently leaves out or forgets like other leftist morons that terrorism didn't start the day we invaded Iraq. Ducky the only thing you stand for is a bankrupt and failed political ideology. Again stick to s*it you know like the cinema and rectal thermometers.

Don't look now, but the New York Times is accusing the Bush Administration of advancing the WMD technology and know-how of rogue nations and terrorist organizations by releasing captured documents from Iraqi WMD programs to the public on the Internet.

You see, Saddam Hussein's active WMD programs were a year away from making a nuclear weapon as these documents show, but he was not a threat...

Or something.

Never could figure out why leftists insist on being stupid.
