CAIR: No Comment?

Today on Fox News Channel, there was some discussion of the documentary Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against The West, recently released on DVD. The moderator of the discussion stated that CAIR had been invited to participate in the discussion, but had declined.

Now, why is that? One would think that such a discussion on cable news would be an excellent opportunity for CAIR (1) to debunk the film and (2) to issue a call for moderate Muslims to speak out against Islamic radicals.

A recently released twelve-minute version is available for online viewing HERE. Better yet. Buy the DVD and watch the entire documentary.

I am usually a bit cautious when I buy DVD's. I will look at who produced it, where it was made, etc.

..and as for CAIR getting an invite to comment, it figures that they don't show up. Hmm, maybe this DVD is worth the money in that case.

Steve,
I own a copy of the DVD. I highly recommend it.

Duck,
Actually, CAIR isn't commenting because the DVD did less than half a million box office and they don't know about the film.

Um, not exactly. From CAIR's web site and dated September 12, 2006:

On August 30th the 'documentary' Obsession: Radical Islam's War With the West was shown in Saint Louis. Prior to the showing of the film we had approached our local Interfaith Partnership group and asked if they would stand with us to express their objection to this film, and were told that 1) this was not an interfaith issue, and 2) is was a matter of free speech....

What CAIR did today by refusing to participate in the discussion was to avoid an uncomfortable forum.

I'm betting this film does better in box office and DVD sales than one of Ducky's prized Iranian knock-offs of HBO "reality-TV-in-a-taxicab" shows.

Thanks for that AOW. I watched the 12 min. clip and it's an eye popping wake up call. Anyone who fails to get the message after watching this is part of the problem.

OT, the "today in history thingie" is a nice addition to your blog.

Duck,
Nobody pays attention to Darfur, honor killings, stonings, sharia, beheadings, numerous surahs and hadiths advocating violence and intolence to infidels, women gays etc..

That doesn't mean it isn't happening, it just means they don't follow the news.

With known ties to Hamas and Hezbollah, CAIR has no interest in talking about this in a public forum.
Anything they say would just come back to haunt them later.

Kevin,
I've had that day-in-history feature for quite a while. Different feeds are available. Can't have 'em all, though, or the sidebar gets too cluttered.

Nobody pays attention to Darfur, honor killings, stonings, sharia, beheadings, numerous surahs and hadiths advocating violence and intolence to infidels, women gays etc.

Gotta dig those stories out on the web. The msm will not carry them.

That doesn't mean it isn't happening

Nanc,
The entire film is suitable for childre to view. I believe that the rating is PG-13, for violence.

plucky. get a brain - it will keep your head from caving in further.

Bwahahahaha! But one hemisphere might still be too dominant.

Java error most of the day. Maybe Warren knows what that means???

Brooke,
Ducky: Resident film snob and reality avoidance expert.

Hehehe. But I have to admit that sometimes Duck and I agree on films. Not often, but sometimes. Of course, we don't agree on reality avoidance., nor on the definition thereof.

Mr. Beamish,
I'm betting this film does better in box office and DVD sales than one of Ducky's prized Iranian knock-offs of HBO "reality-TV-in-a-taxicab" shows.

LOL.

I don't like the reality shows presented on HBO. I'm not into Complete Make-over, either.

Morgan,
As Nanc has pointed out, those who most need to see the film don't want to watch it. Of course, some minds can never be persuaded, so it's hopeless to think otherwise. As you said, Anyone who fails to get the message after watching this is part of the problem.

TMW,
Heheheheheh! Nothing but the facts...

Facts--inconvenient things.

Freedom Now,
Perhaps Duck will return to tell us if he watched those 12 minutes.

Beak,
The Duck likes to have Disney version of Islamic history.

Disney is not reality and often smacks of looking at the world through rose-colored glasses.

Raven,
Ducky ducks yet another one.

This might have been one of his drive-by postings. We'll see.

Steve,
Islam: What the West Needs to Know is totally non-pc. But Obsession is a good starting point. Bites which are too big are often undigested at all.

Crusader,
Anything they say would just come back to haunt them later.

Similar to some other statements made by CAIR's officers and former officers?

I guess CAIR is only willing to debate what's wrong in America but not what's wrong in Islamic countries.

Ducky certainly made out an ass out of himself.

I would be interested if he would attempt to refute the facts presented in the movie instead of engaging in conjecture about what the movie is about.

yeah, fern - now if we could only do a clockwork orange thing on him and the ducktape thing to his eyelids and closed bill and force him to watch it!

As of yet, no comment from CAIR on FNC's recent discussion of Obsession, the information here which was crossposted at Americans Against Hate, Joe Kaufman's blog.

But Mr. Bedier did leave a comment to this particular article:

Hawk,

Nice FAKE SCREEN prints, you must be really good in PHOTOSHOP.

I'd like to thank you and the other hate bloggers for continuing to advertise my blog and YouTube Channel, you guys are driving so many visitors to my sites. Keep it up.

If so many visitors are being driven to his sites, are all the comments from those visitors being posted? Hmmmm?
