Press Release: Gilchrist To Speak

MINUTEMAN FOUNDER JIM GILCHRIST ADDED TO SPEAKER LINE-UP FOR NOVEMBER SYMPOSIUM ON TERRORISM IN LAS VEGAS

Jim Gilchrist, the founder of the Minuteman Project, has joined the line-up of speakers scheduled to appear at a symposium addressing the threat of terrorism set to take place on November 10th & 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Gilchrist joins a distinguished list of scheduled speakers including Hamid Mir, the only journalist to have interviewed Osama bin Laden and Ayman al Zawahri since the attacks of September 11, 2001, who will be the keynote speaker.

The symposium, titled, Understanding the Threat of Radical Islamist Terrorism, addresses the origins and threat of terrorism and is presented by America’s Truth Forum, a grassroots, non-partisan, educational organization. The event is scheduled for November 10th & 11th, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is open to the public. Tickets are $150 per attendee and require advanced purchase due to security protocol.

Gilchrist founded the multi-ethnic Minuteman Project on Oct. 1, 2004, after years of frustrated efforts trying to get a neglectful U.S. government to simply enforce existing immigration laws. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and recipient of the Purple Heart award for wounds sustained while serving with an infantry unit in Vietnam, 1968 - 1969.

Mr. Gilchrist will speak on the issues of terrorist infiltrating the US border and the threat they pose, and the events surrounding his recent appearance at Columbia University where protesters denied him his First Amendment free speech rights when they rushed his stage.

America’s Truth Forum launches the symposium on Friday evening with a VIP Pre-Symposium Reception on November 10, 2006. Those in attendance will be provided the unique opportunity to personally interact with our speakers and other "prominent" guests. Tickets for the VIP Pre-Symposium Reception are $109.00 per attendee. Again, tickets need to be purchased in advance due to security protocol

For information and to purchase tickets: America's Truth Forum or email staff@americastruthforum.com or call Jeffrey Epstein at (866) 709-3474.

As long as he is not speaking at a leftist university, he may actually get to give a speech.

It's good that you emphasized the 'the multi-ethnic' aspect of the Minutemen. Illegal immigration hurts every legitimate citizen, regardless of their ethnic background.

remember - what happens in vegas, stays in vegas, well unless you're a politician scouting dancers and strippers!

what a great guy jim gilchrist is - a shame for what happened to him and his cohorts at the university a few weeks ago. hopefully there'll be no repeats.

Exactly what I was going to say: "Hopefully there will be no repeats." I would hate to see that happen again, but I doubt that it will.

I do think it is a little funny that he's standing in front of a pic of Regan, who was very lax on immigration and border security. LOL!

He wasn't denied his "First Amendment free speech rights" because the First Amendment only regulates government interference with speech (read it!). Then again, a lot of far right radicals aren't the most well read on constitutional rights either, are they?

I'm not saying that what the protesters did was right, far from it. But clarity and correctness are necessary when discussing an issue of this controversy.

Brooke,
Yes, Reagan did grant amnesty to illegal immigrants. But part of that amnesty was supposed to include securing our southern border; Congress didn't follow through on that part of the agreement. Therefore, Gilchrist's standing in front of Reagan's picture isn't such an incongruity.

Anonymous,
Over the past several decades, many activities at universities--including the burning of the American flag--were justified on the basis of the First Amendment. In fact, universities have bragged about their defense of First Amendment rights. But when it comes to conservative speakers, a different set of rules applies. And if Columbia University accepts public funds, is not a First Amendment issue involved?

come on, plucky - we listen to your "ebert-maltin-siskel" act for free all the time.

p.s. plucky, i think illegals SHOULD build the fence, right before we plunk their illegal butts on the other side with a canteen of water and a knapsack of sandwiches! it should be part of their punishment before being booted - you are as stubborn as aow is graceful for allowing you to come here and continually speak nonsense.

Nanc,
aow is graceful for allowing you to come here and continually speak nonsense.

I'm one of the polite types, I guess. Beak has said so, anyway.

LA,
Sorry to be so late with my response to you.

As long as he is not speaking at a leftist university, he may actually get to give a speech.

Security at the Symposium will be quite different from that at Columbia University. Mr. Gilchrist will get to speak, I'm sure.

Gayle,
He'll get to speak and to finish his speech. Wish I could be there to hear it. Alas! I have other matters to deal with here at home. But I have a friend who'll be taking notes for me. :)

I forgot about Congress fizzling out.

Typical, isn't it, for the Prez to get all the blame, and the crappy Congress to slide? LOL!

Kuhnkat,
As you implied, whoever or whatever interferes with one's freedom of speech should be held responsible for that interference.

What happened at Columbia University showed the intolerance of the left. Why not let the man speak? Wasn't he INVITED to speak? If he's wrong, then have a reasoned debate.

Gee, I wonder why anyone would pay that proven liar and philanderer Bill Clinton around $445,000 per speech.

That being said, I did a cursory search and couldn't find any statistics regarding flag burning on college campuses. I defy Ducky to quote some facts, other than some six year old op-edesque article.
